Our HEART
Grace Exists to be a vibrant expression of who God is. God is one who liberated sinners with forgiveness and joins hurting people in their suffering. Likewise, our church is about two things: FREEDOM and COMPASSION
FREEDOM
All people have experienced the destruction of sin, both from sins they have committed and sins committed against them. The healing of this destruction is no found in revenge or bitterness or people getting what's coming to them. Rather, healing is found in forgiveness. And this is God's gift to the world. When we were stuck in vengeance and hostility, God sent his Son to bear the destruction of all such folly. And to overcome it by way of forgiveness. we are invited into that forgiving life of Christ. We are not perfect people, or even good people, but we are forgiven people. And when we embrace that forgiveness and offer it to others, the power of sin is broken. This is freedom
"So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God's household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit."
Ephesians 2:19-22
Compassion
All people suffer, both from self-destructive choices and by no fault of their own. Our world scrambles to eliminate this suffering, but the pain persists all around. Suffering is not going away. Nevertheless, we are not powerless to help hurting people. In fact, the greatest help of all is compassion. The word compassion meant stop suffer with. This is what God has done for his world. He has entered our suffering with us through the life of Jesus. God knows our pain, and he stands with us in it. Likewise, we are invited to enter the pain of hurting people and stand with them. When we receive the compassion of God and extend it to others, no one must suffer alone.
"but speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in all aspects into Him who is the head, even Christ, from whom the whole body, being fitted and held together by what every joint supplies, according to the proper working of each individual part, causes the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love."
Ephesians 4:15-16
RAGAMUFFINS
Ragamuffins are the unsung assembly; of saved sinners who are little in their own sight and aware of their brokenness and powerlessness before God. A ragamuffin knows he is only a beggar at the door of God's grace. Welcome to a place called Grace. We are a Ragamuffin Church
